The Datsun A12 engine is the most common A series engine to be found. They are commonly found in most countries and were fitted to the B110, B210, & B310 chassis, known as the Datsun/Sunny 1200,[B110] Sunny/120y, [B210] & Sunny/120Y [B310]. The US model B210 [B210] & model 210 [B310] did not use the A12 engine.

This was all done to make room for an airconditioning compressor mounting point in the former alternator mounting area.
