The rear axle housing may be fitted with axle baffles. They are designed to constrain the differential oil to the center section. Otherwise when high-speed racing the oil can move to one side and stay there.

RS240 Setup - At the rear there are two plugs fitted. The top plug is for checking oil level and the second for fitting an oil pickup for the diff oil cooler pump. The return from the cooler sprays directly onto the pinion gera to cool it.
