Nissan Elephant Oil - Nissan's own brand of oil was 'Elephant' brand, so named (as legend has it) after some dazzling successes in the East African Safari Rallyᵂ. The first of these was the class win in 1966☁ with the Bluebird P411-TK.

This Oil cap for Datsun 1000 does not fit a 1200, which uses a sealed oil cap. A sticker is available from Bprojects to give a 1200 cap the same look.

The cap says '工レフイントオイルを注入してさい' which translates more or less to 'Elephant Oil Fill Occasionally'.

One is made to be used with a Valve cover that has a completely flat mating surface. This cap has a place for an O-ring to be installed on it's lower sealing surface.
The other variety of 'Elephant' cap is made for use with a Valve cover that has a groove in the valve cover for an O-ring to be seated, and the cap's sealing surface is completely flat.
