The Rear Engine Crossmember is more commonly called the gearbox crossmember. Nissan calls it the "Rear Engine Mounting Member". This transmission crossmember holds the rear engine insulator (rubber transmission mount). The crossmember matches the car, while the insulator matches the transmission type.

  • The 5-speed crossmember has a deeper dip, but is otherwise the same
  • Both crossmembers use the same rubber insulator

When fitting a GX5 gearbox, you may use the 4-speed crossmember with spacers:

60L 5-speed and all 60-series 4-speeds use the same crossmember and rubber insulator. The later 60A 5-speed uses a slightly different crossmember and insulator.

B310 has several holes in the body for the 4 crossmember types.

  • Auto, 60L, and 60A all look similar and are 4-bolt. It is assymetrical
  • 56-series looks different and is 2-bolt
  • 3 holes on left side are 39.6 and 43.2 mm apart (front to back)
  • 3 holes on right side are 43.6 and 40 mm apart

Rubber Insulator

There are different types of rear insulators.

The 56-Series Transmission type of mount bolts to the crossmember from the sides of the mount, just like these stock 1200 mounts:
21966.jpg 21965.jpg 4651.jpg

This type, used with 60-Series Transmission, straddles the crossmember and bolts from the bottom:
1706.jpg 23295.jpg

Automatic is yet again different.
