The 1980-1982 A13 used the same block as the A12 and same stroke of 70 mm, but with a 76 mm bore for a slight increase in displacement to 1270cc. Not to be confused with TS 1300 engine, which was an overbored A12. Aside from powering Datsun cars, this engine was used as the base for 1980s TS Cup racing and a number of Formula Pacific & Formula 3 race engines.

Overview
Nissan produced two different A13 engines. The newer A13 came in 1980 as an A12-derived engine.
New A13 is identical to new A12 except for ID stamp and casting numbers

A13 Racing Engines
Prior to 1980, TS racing cars (1300cc class) used an A12 engine bored out to just under 1300cc.

1300cc racing engines from 1970 were a bored-out A12, with the block stamped as 'A12', although racing engines starting in 1980 preferred the new A13 block.
