I have seen them in Alfa Romeo, twin packs.

Apparently this carburetor is as versatile as the DGV series. Fiat , Mitsubishi ( montero 2.6) Mazda ( 2.6) , Porsche 912/914 , Renault R-5 Le car , air cooled VW's as well as water cooled VW's and american engines like Chrysler and Dodge use these carbs as aftermarket performance kits.
Perhaps "mass" production has leaned towards the DGV series, but I see lots of applications and advantages for this DFV series.
I have a Suzuki Samurai off road vehicle, and a constant complaint by off roaders with Suzukis is that upon decending off an incline or in any incline, the DGV tends to flow...and some advocate installing the carburetor the other way around.
This DFV series would be taylor made for Suzuki riders.

I have picked up a couple of OEM Weber 32 DIR carbs.
These might have something to offer too. They are a progressive 32/32 carb & this smaller size may be better suited to the smaller engines, like 1200 & A12 engines in stock trim.
Keep in mind that the larger 32/36 carb was designed for a 2 litre engine & may simply be too much carb for some engines.

The 32 DIR also seems to be, like the DFV, largely mirror reversed from the DGV & this has a couple of advantages.
I will clean one of them up & take some photos & try to do a bit of an essay to present for discussion.

As can be seen, this size carb is designed around 1200 to 1600 size engines &, as I wrote, I believe that this may be an advantage on some Datsun engines.
You can just imagine how big the demand is for old Renault parts in the wreckers, so the carb should be dirt cheap, but is probably only likeley to be found in the older & larger yards.

Yes, there is more suitable carbs for smaller engines , and there is such an array of carbs by Weber. I will investigate....European markets have so many different vehicles and performance kits that it is a great place to investigate.
I believe that due to production numbers, Weber in english speaking countries has marketed the DGV series , and in part due to emissions restrictions.
Fiats have a lot of information for us datsun guys,because there is a lot of small engine Fiat cars with extensive performance paraphenalia.
