Wouldnt there be a drawback with this system as the shield would reflect heat back onto the motor? It would be good to know whether the benefits outweigh the costs.

For a normal carby though has anyone found a significant drop in running temps after installing a ram type cold air induction system. Im more interested in cooling my motor down as the heat this summer really has gotten to my car and im sure most of yours as well!

Mikali, the engine heat is not a problem (it goes through the radiator, and down out of the engine compartment).

If the carbs are jetted for the cooler denser air, the benefit to "cold air" is significant. Here is a recent discussion of it ... along with some potential downsides: Carburetor. Please explain...
