I saw this on the way to a delivery and then on the way back I took a picture out the window with my new nokia phone. Hence the reason it is so small.
But still pretty good considering it was out a moving car.

I am not 100% but I believe they were 16's. I had a chat to the bloke a few months ago at some local shops. He said that most of the work was done when he bought it. He wasn't sure about what struts were used and stuff like that...
If I see it again I will check.

Umm... Yeah I was driving my car that day I think...

I'm a big fan of HUGE wheels, hence why I bought 16's I know they ain't HUGE but they're still big, they are cheeper as well.
But still this ute looks Awesome

I came out of the mall and went to my car and parked next to it was this ute again.
Had a look at the tyre size, and they are actually 17's...
I took another phone picture of that but it didn't show up cos it was too dark...
Unfortunately, I dunno what was done to get these on...

i dont mind big wheels, but 17inch on the datto sort of throws the look of the car out, i think 14,15, maybe16.....but 17 too big (but i wouldnt knock the car back that for sure!!!!)

i do like the 13inch look, with the datto slamed to the ground

Good Photo, were you driving your 1200 at the time?

I'm undecided about 16s and 17s on 1200s.

I think the 13x7 Minilites look the BEST. It's a shame that you have to butcher the guards to get most 7 inch rims to fit on a 1200.

Chris.

It is a nice looking ute , but I think it looks too cartoonish with the big rims. By filling the guards up it visually raises the ute and makes it look short and high like a roller skate. I am getting old I guess but I would rather see smaller rims on it and it slammed closer to terra firma.

Seeing so many 510s and Roadsters at Blue Lake today with large rims, I was thinking what it was about "big wheels" that I have mixed feelings about. It dawned on me ... all my life I've seen vintage cars have a certain "look", and these big wheels throw that out the window. Maybe in a few more years I'll get used to it ...

If you go big wheels, please have big brakes to match. There are some new cars around here that look silly with 18" rims but comparatively teensy 12" disk rotors showing through the spokes.

I don't like big diametre wheels on old cars either. My preference is for fat 13's (as you can probably tell) but up to 15's are about the maximum limit on a 1200 without making the car look stupid IMHO. It looks as stupid as late model cars with old style wheels. just plain old wrong.
