Looks good Feral. How did you find the Toyos on the circuit? They seem to be the tyre of choice for Hillclimbers as they are very soft.

At first I thought they were very hard as they didnt scuff up like 540S's or 032S's. I have 3 neg and 3 caster on as I didnt have my ajustable tops modded yet.

After about 6 laps they were grained up beautifully and I didnt really find there limits until the end of the day. They have stiff sidewalls giving good feel, and are very progressive in breakaway.

I drove home on them as well (at a snails pace). I think part of it is the sunny is so light.

PS I dont know how three copies of the one pic ended up on the album. It was not deliberate

Good clean car feral - what engine/box/diff are you running? Suspension mods? I've just bought a Sunny and I'm wondering how it'll measure up against my coupes.

Edit (L20B), 63A dogleg , H165 diff.
Serious suspension struts with works MK63 Sumitomo 4 spots and works 261mm ventilated discs.
The sunnys are so easy to do and sooooooo cheap They end up the same weight as a 1200 coupe done to the same spec but it is easy to bolt in stanza rear or gazelle rear for high power applications

just happened to have an LZ lying around Erol?

I want your spares bin..!!

You're right about the B310's, they're so much easier to put bigger engines in.
It's hard to get a decent 310 coupe shell these days though...

Are the 310 sedans equally as good on the track?

 Re: SANDOWN 250503
aaaah, depends on the 310..
the ones with FJ24's in them get along well enough...

They're essentially a scaled up 1200, with a coilspring backend.
they're a little heavier, so not much good for running small A series motors, but if you want to go over 1600cc, they're a fantastic package..

 Re: SANDOWN 250503
The LZ20B is not a twin cam dammit, its NOT THAT LZ!!!

Its a L or Z 20B block with A 87 "D" port head.

It will have the FIA head and injection later, a holinger box and the 240RS rear axle complete. The 240 RS axle fits in like a dream and is light as well with the alloy carrier, its in my second coupoe race shell at the moment.

I nearly bough an X Nissan works FJ24 on a dyno jig back in 1990 for $10,000 but I couldnt afford it. Phil Morris now has that engine and a few others I believe?

Is that what Phil Morris uses to kill the rx7s???? I thought it was a fj20?
Ive never seen an article on that car. It would be good to see one somewhere. Obviously not on this site of course

Yep Phil purchased the FJ from Pud Thompson in shepparton. It was freshly dynoed and in the engine dyno mounting jig with dummy box on the back.

 Re: SANDOWN 250503
aw gawd, now i'm confused...
I always thought the twincam head on a L series block was an 'FZ', as used in the Gp4 stanza, and the Formula Atlantics....
Then I was convinced otherwise, that it was in fact an 'LZ'
There's another LZ?
Last complete FJ24 I saw was a bargain at $14k...I was too broke as well....Sigh...

 Re: SANDOWN 250503
How much oomph does that fj24 produce??
I heard andrew moffat (alans son) bought last year never placed 1st 1600 which won vic 2ltrSS to play with as for Anthony or rupert rodrigez?? cant remember either is trying a hi po 3sg?
Does anyone know whether the ca20 shares anything with the z18??? As the ca20 extractors seemed to have the same exhaust outlet pattern??

In endurance trim it makes 260 hp, in grenade trim 285 - 290 hp approx.

 Re: SANDOWN 250503
The real advantage to the FJ24's is the torque they produce.
It's unlike any other 4 cylander engine I've ever experienced.
When my co-driver first rode in the car, he said 'I thought it was going bloody well, then it came on cam...'
It's kind of comparable to a strong A15 in a 600kg shell, or a clubsport commodore, but doubled....
I must get that engine back together. It'd be interesting to see what difference the injection makes...

THe B310 engine bay has quite a bit of room.... we squeezed in an FJ20 Turbo with a high mount exhaust manifold. It's right back close to the firewall, which leaves plenty of room at the front of the engine.

Errol.....I know you have told me before...but what spoiler is that you are running on the front?

Mark.

 Re: SANDOWN 250503
You are correct the LZ20 was the group 4 formula pacific twin cam 16 valve. Normally reffererd to as LZ20 group 4 in my stanza competition tune up manual. from Nissan..

The Z20, and Z22 blocks are also referred to as LZ'20s because of their dual usage.
I am tryingto buy a group 4 head at the moment but I may have to sell my wife and dog to pay for it.
