All you have to do it play the slot machines at Naledi Sun Casino in Thaba Nchu near Bloemfontien and hit a 777.

This is true, but the nissan bakkie was discontinued because of new emision laws that we now have, I dont think it would pass the Aussie emision tests either.

That's an excuse that has been popular since the early 1970s.

i really doubt it is true, since in Japan the same engine meets high emission control standards.

I think the problem lies with the fact that all it would take to get the std A14 compliant again, is some fuel reforming... which would also make it so fuel economical that you would probably be able to skip a fuelprice hike or 2 on a tank of fuel....

and for the sake of our poor suffering starving OIL-Overlords, we can not possibly want to have that now, can we.

ADR = Australian Design Rules [safety standards etc etc], Emissions standards would be a consideration as well

They did go out of production in December 2007, but Nissan SA made enough to supply its cutomers until the new one comes out in the 4th quarter of 2008.

 Re: Win A 2008 Nissan 1400 Bakkie 2
Last time I checked you could pick one of the showroom floor for 62,000ZAR, which is about 8,234.39AUD. Some dealers sell them for much cheaper than others, they seem to have a lot of stock that they are trying to clear before the new, hugely ####ty, bakkie comes in.

However, economic situation in our country I think might prompt them to sell them even cheaper. Secondhand the prices are also going to plumet, because a year or 2 ago, they cost around R70K, so some 2nd hand 2 year old ones are actually more expensive still than a brand new one...

2008 Bakkie? I thought they went out of production at the end of 2007?
Man it would be so sweet to own a brand new one of these. Father time can be rather unkind to cars, so to have one that hadn't suffered his ravages would be terrific.
