 Re: New dyno chart
So it went for the dyno, but with the first power run, it spat out it's coolant(178.4kw). Filled it up, and ran it again, same thing(180.4kw). Opened her up on Wednasday evening, and found that the gasket failed. Head was still straight. So it made pretty good power even though the engine wasn't realy at it's best.

So tonight Thursday, she was put bakc together again. Fired up first time when coil wire was connected, after oil pressure was detected. Some pics of the proccess.

Note in last pic some upgrades. 50mm boost pipe between turbo and coller replaced with 67mm item. New 58kv coil, unfortunately no more Fanta injection(probably why it failed), and yellow Mallory 8mm plug and coil leads. I took half of a V8 set another guy with 4 cylinder bought, the Coil wire was made up from off-cut from one of the plug leads...

Also note in dynograph above, the red circles indicate dip in power right when it pukes it's coolant...

 Re: New dyno chart
Is this kw at the wheels or an estimate of kw at the engine? edit: or both?

At the wheels, the dyno guy says it's the most accurate, as he's not guessing what ratios your gearbox or diff has, and it's the figure that actually matters. Unless he's lying, but it sure does feel like that...

yeah I assumed it would be, just the "ENGINE power corrected" got me wondering.

Solid power out of the little 1.6 anyway :) well done.

Ah I see what you mean, but seeing as my car made close to the same amount on the dyno 1500m higher from sea level, and that was wheel power, it must be wheel power on this too. I'm just wondering why that is there, if it's a standard heading or something. I will find out and post what he said.

 Re: New dyno chart
Thanks, yes it's fun to drive, but now with the locked diff it gets all wonky if the road is wet. Also it is still breaking traction on some smoother tar surfaces if you simply accelerate in 2nd...

I was at 13.7, and that was with open diff, lots of axle tramp and a little less 177kw. The 180kw was with the #1 not firing properly either, their should be a good 5-10 hiding right there. So now the diff is locked, all cylinders are firing they way they should, some nice looking anti-tramp rods were installed and hopefully this damn Cape Town weather lets up by tomorrow, so that I can see if I could get it into the 12's.

What's this about extra 50kw, do I hear some boost coming on...

180rwkw should see you well into the 11's with traction mate.
Good luck!
