 Re: Mini
I saw this mini run at Tarlton about 2 and a half months ago, if i am not mistaken it ran a 12.9 second 1/4 mile. This was at the reef, so it should run better at the coast. Give this boy a challange kululadotgroen, give him something to cry to mommy with.

Cool, it was more than a year ago that I ran against him, so they could've very well made some improvements as well.

 Re: Mini
There's actually a company in he UK that make the subframes in kit form to fit the busa in the Mini. It's the same kit they used to do the mini above, and would probably be a good point to start from to take measurements or atleast get a visual reference of how to go about building a kit for a 1200...

Not exactly a Datsun, non Datsun related pics aren't appreciated on this site, but it still kicked a Datsun's as once, so that might warrant the picture being here. Yes, it kicked my ass when I went to Wesbank for the first time, got over the 400 just before me, but I was catching him at 'n helluva rate.

O ja, and it's actually a 1300 Hyabusa motor. It doesn't have a reverse, they reverse by engaging a starter motor which drives a ring gear mounted on the on rear axle. Yes it's rear wheel drive, and the motor sits in the rear just behind the front seats. It drives the rear axle through a sprocket and chain arrangement..

He won't be kicking my ass any more though...

 Re: Mini
I think this may have been for the L series into 1000 thread?
A mid mounted hayabusa engine in a 2 door sedan would be pretty cool....

hey kululadotgroen what do you have and what's in it? would have to be fairly quick to beat this i would think.
theres also vids on youtube of a mk1 golf with a turbo hayabusa motor making 400hp i think (but don't quote me) and with carbon fibre doors etc. weighs in at 650kg. also converted to rwd, but front mounted.

I have a 1200 GX sedan with a turbo 4AGZE making 191kw/285nm. As I said, I was very inexperienced then, and I was catching him at great speed towards the end of the run. It rocks off from pull away, but probably halfway in it sounds like it's running out of steam...

I think the best time he'd done was a 13.9, which was quicker than the 14.1 I posted. My best is now at 13.18, soon to be into the 12's...

I've seen the blue golf yes, crazy stuff...

 Re: Mini

I had a look at the rear end and it's pretty simple, alot less work than i thought,

I wonder how well it would go in a 1000 2-door sedan?

How much Hp has the Haybusa motor put out? they rev to 15 000rpm don't they?

Who's going to be the guinea pig to try this one out?

 Re: Mini
The only problem with this is that there isnt anywhere you could really use it. CAMS won't allow it in most things and I doubt you could get it engineered unless it became an ICV (independently constructed vehicle).... but it would go like a raped ape!
