Don't let Dodgeman and his OH&S boys catch you doing that. He'll hit you with 6 months of "Safety" training...and months of Community Service.

Now don't tell me I'm mad but,,,,,,, It would be safer (i think)if you did it on concrete and cut two slots to put the poles in and tied the car down to an anchorage point on the same side .Mind you working in a wrecking yard for years you see some seriously dodgy work practices AND I MEAN DODGY.

When I worked in a wrecking yard we propped 'em up with an old 55-gallon oil drum. Not as safe as holeshot's setup shown here, but we were in a hurry.

Man thats some scary stuff! I bet you work really fast under there when you think about how easy it would be for those poles to slip out from under the car...

We are gathered here today to mourn the loss of our friend holeshot.
He died in a freak car falling on his skull incident that noone could have seen coming....
We will miss him terribly.

of heard of rolling a car onto a matress to work on the bottom, without wrecking the car, anyone done that, im not too sure if the car would come out unharmed

Two blokes lift one side while the twin girls place the timber. That 4X4 hilux with V6 in it I did ,we had the body on the ground placed old tyres next to it then rolled it on to the side to work under it. (Mental note take doors off.)

My mother had a 120Y in her veggie patch for about 3 months on it's side to be worked on. With the doors off and diff etc removed 2 of us were able to flip and move it where we pleased. No supports though, it just sat there leaning on the turret side. A kero drum also makes a good jackstand. . .

Holeshot, you showing off? why 2 pieces of timber? Mr Safety. . .

 Re: Days before rotar
I just did the same thing a couple weeks ago. put a heap of matteresses and old tyres (minus rims) on the ground. Then dad, my bro, and myself lifted it onto its side. It had no motor in it at the time, the only thing that leaked was the brakes
the front fender was off on that side, but the doors were still on. No injuries were sustained to the car, except where the brake fluid dripped on the paintwork... but i repainted the engine bay since. (and it was properly on its side, not halfway like this pic)
instead of using those high quality poles, we tied it to a verandah post with a snatch strap.
makes it heaps easier to work on, especially when you have to paint underneath.

I can believe this with an old Ford or some other heavy-steel car ... but with a 1200? Just leaning across the fenders/guards to adjust the carb idle puts dents in the body.
