Re: a few of our familys 1200
The flares were made by heating plastic down pipe and it took ages, works well but I'm having trouble getting the paint to stick to them. There is a pic of the susuki dash in the photo album. The middle car is a little different it,s got an A15 with an auto ( on purpose ) it has the hyd hand brake working of the clutch pedal. So in motorkanas you don't have to take your hands of the wheel to use the handbrake or change gear. Its very easy to drive and works well. The suspension is standard at the back with a vannett axle and 4.8 locked centre. The front is mostly sunny with longer control arms and it dosn't have any sway bars at all. Olboy

to make paint stick to them, have you tried "prepsol" ?

That is supposed to make paint stick to anything.

Thanks Chris.
I thought prepsol was a cleaner or something like WD40.

The trouble with painting plastic is that it 'sweats' You need to take the shine off it and seal it. There's a product called 'Catalyst' I think thats how it's spelt. It gives a great base to paint any type of paint over the top.

Also, I only want to know about the wagon! Has it been recently painted, is it for sale, do you know where I can get another wagon? Mine has had it's day and I don't want to be another coupe owner. Not that there anything wrong with coupes,I do need one to finish off my 1200 collection, I'm only missing the coupe form the group. But I need a new wagon.

Lobster what would you like to know?. It's got an a15 with a Jeff Taylor head, and all the usual with twin delortoes. much modified suspension with 2 front sway bars and 1 back, the rear shocks are an original pair of coupe shocks and the front are original sunny with the thickest fork oil that I could get. Commodore front calipers and 240K disks with vannet back axle and brakes. 4.8 locked diff. Dash is a susuki hatch
The kanacross car in the middle is the interesting one.
