thanks dattoman, i dont think I'll be cutting the stick too soon, the 120Y i just bought had the stick cut off so it was about 3" long; not very functional.

Just out of interest, I have since discovered that there are two types of these gearboxes, mainly its the rear extension housing that differs, this picture shows the type with the gear stick up higher and closer to the bellhousing, the other type of extension housing has the gearstick lower and further away from the bellhousing. Both are 2t gearboxes (20 splines on the output shaft)
I have both sorts so after this week ends rally i"ll take a photo of both and post.

 Re: toyota 5-speed
Just thought I'd ad a pic of my new one, hopefully less expense than the last one.
Had the day off yesterday so I dropped it out of the 1000, didnt even need to remove the shifter!

Would the tailshaft (modded to fit in 1000) also fit in 1200? I could go and measure... but its raining.
Also would the four-bolt adapter from tail-shaft to diff be the same from 1000 ute to 1200 ute? once again something I should check myself.... but its raining.
