lol @ lildarkone...let me tell u my tyre history for the car, used to run 175/70/13 tyres on 13x6j rims(chromed)...then ran 205/60/13 tyres on 13x 6j rims(cyclone chrome rims), the last set of tyres before i sold her were bridgestone turanza 195/60/13 on the same 13x6j rims...the 205's were hard compound tyres and you could not drive fast in wet wheater as the back end wud slid....good for burnouts cos the could spin easy...the bridgestones on the other hand would stick like glue.

 Re: Datsun120Y
Hey Guys,The car originally came with an A12 motor,4 speed box and 3.889 diff, nissan south africa did release a 140y sdx which was powered by an A14 motor & a 4 speed box, the 140y GX had an L series 1.4 motor with twin SU carbies and a 3 spoke sport steering wheel, and the dash had round gauges...They also introduced a 140z and a 160z, both of which were powered by L series motors and only available in coupe form..The 140z had twin delortors carbs n made 75 or 85 kw@7200rpm, can't remeber exact specs at the moment. I changed my dashboard to a 140z with the round dials...the front spoiler is made by a local south african company, fiberglass, the grill is original 120y,jus resprayed it black, the headlights were changed from the sealed untits to semi-sealed with 55/100watt zeon effect bulbs hense the bluish tint...i changed the motor to an A14 and got a 5 speed box of a bakkie, even the diff, the diff required modification to fit as had to cut and weld the shock absorber mountings and it was like 20mm shorter in track then the original 120y diff, contact me for any more info.

Is this a B210 Datsun 120Y, or a PB210 Excelent? That's an Excelent grille in there.

 Re: Datsun120Y
it's an entry level PB210 - A14...

there is a member that owns a PB210 Davie... I think... who said something like "there is the SGX - 120Y tail lights and PB210 interior and front" but has an A14...

if the 120Y had the PB210 front on it I think it would have had the same "cult car" status of the 1200!...

I would like to know WHY datsun sold the B210 here in australia but not the PB210!...

Well, the whole point of the PB210 is that it had L-engine power. So if it came with a A engine, it's not a PB. Just a regular B210 with a PB grille.

Notice too that the hood doesn't match the point of the grille. Compare to this picture of a PB210:

Or, if it really is an Excelent, it would have the L14 as original fitment I believe.
The common link here is the 1400cc displacement.
Looks bloody good from this angle anyway.

 Re: Datsun120Y
this what Davie said in the "PB210 in australia" thread...

"They were released in SA as the 140Y, in a few different versions, the bottom of the line, the SDX, had the Excellent nose and 120Y tail lights, running the A14. The 140Y GX was identical in every respect to the Excellents, the 140Z and 160Z were the same as the Excellents but had different Carbies, namely Dellorto
