coilover kit from member sssute, shortened 240k strut now 390mm koni yellow adjustable shocks, sumitomo twin piston calipers, ferodo race pads, slotted 253mm dba disks and cusco camber tops and king springs (yet to be ordered) probably 250 or 275lb.

these are going in my datsun 1600 for datnats but will be for sale soonish after as i'm going to do a five stud conversion with different struts and brakes...

would kick ass on a 1200 and allow you to run a 13inch wheel, thats why i built them

Im running 275lb king springs with koni reds. I would probably go for 225lb and a thicker sway bar but then again I need to get out on the track to really know.

fark me 275 in a 1200!!! that's be stiff on the road. i think i'm gonna go 250 as it'll be regularly street driven.

i have been busy on the 1600 boof, fuel system done all new brake system nearing completion... just need to plumb up the cooler and radiator, wire it up and make an exhaust. datnats is drving me

dat51k they will be for sale probably mid year....

Did you shorten the struts at the top, or cut the piece that had the original lower strut perch out of the middle and then weld the two bits of the struts together?

Slightly interested as I have all those bits...but Stanza struts and wondering in which way you cut them....as Stanzas seem a little long stock.

Mildman, safest way is to cut the struts down and get a engineer to tap a thread at the top to match the gland-nut.

LAGWAGON, Im only using the car for the track, still seems very stiff.

now now, we all know thats not true. the safest way for someone to make money is to tell you that!

KONI modify struts by cutting and welding, Pedders do the same. KONI make struts for rally cars, race cars etc. there is nothing dodgy about it!!! As long as the weld is strong, which it is then its all good!

I use 275lb kings in my 1200 racecar [great road holding], they are very stiff. I would not reccommend them for the street.
