having a go at the sigma caliper and disk upgrade pioneered by D. 1200 coupe hub, sigma disk and caliper and bracket, with all the holes in the bracket welded up and new holes drilled to suit the 1000. mild machining on the disk so the hub fits up and thats it! still not on the car but getting close...

The 1200 coupe master cylinder will be enough. i had a 1200 with 120y struts with pretty much the same calipers & such, & i used exactly what you are going to use for a master cylinder, but you have to change the rear wheel cylinders to 11/16's or they will lock up & wear out. You could also get a 13/16 master cylinder from a sunny & use the rod from the original master cylinder to fit without the vaccum booster.

Nice cheap conversion, except new pads are costing me more than the new disks and calipers put together!

i ended up going down this road as the front wheel cylinders are leaking on my 1000 wagon and are now no longer available, costing a fair bit to get re-sleeved.

1000 front wheel cylinders NLA??? I dont beleive you! I got some not to long ago and they had no probs chasing them down.

Are you gonna upgrade master and all the rest while your at it? I wonder how this would compare to Neils setup

yeah, apparently from a few different places i tried they are NLA. i'm putting on a 1200 coupe twin resevoir M/C. hopefully it brakes ok, i'm not expecting too much but it will be better than the drums!

the braket is mounted and the disk and hub are in place, just going to give the calipers a spruce up and put in the new pads and she's done! also adding a 1200 dual master cylinder

Wheel cylinders are still avail

Anything that can be done to improve over drums is a bonus

Nice work! At first I thought I was looking at my race car setup. I use Jaguar rotors and girlock calipers. Very similar to your solid disk setup, except the jaguar is 265mm diameter. DBA sell the rotor as a blank and it's I.D. is 70mm (same as 1200 hub) so all you need do it drill the four holes. It seems theres no limit to the options of brake components!!!

is that what you use on your track 1000 coupe? what pads and how does it stop?

my sigma conversion is completely mounted now, had to linish a little of the corner of the new pads for clearance. used the standard flexible brake line from the 1000 wagon.
