this will be going in the 1000 coupe, probably on the a14 to start with and then i think i'm going to do the A12 theory to keep it in an under 2lt class.

good news on your beast, i can't believe you are making the extractors yourself! let us know how she goes tomorrow!

thanks kegs

the plenum was from a ca18 cut where it was to utilise the "bell mouth" effect on it, then adapting runners from a 90's modle ford falcon. flanges to bolt to the twin weber manifold were fabricated with a die grinder. the CA18 plenum has the throttle body at the other end and a plate with a few vaccum pipes off the back, these can just be switched over and bolted in each other's place. i am using phunkdoc's idea with the camira injector holders welded onto the a series manifold (thanks buddy ) i'll keep photos coming as the progress rolls on.

Looking Good Mate.

As I am sure you have figured out by now, they are a pain to weld on at the back because of the angle. I welded 2 together side by side underneath and then welded some flat plate along the back edge also. Then its just a matter of placing them in position and welding them and the flat plate to the manifold.
Clean them up good. The alloy they are made of seems wanna splatter. I think it has some acid #### in it.
Lately I have been thinking about useing my webber manifold on the 1200. Looking at turboing an SR16 for the 1000 and making a celica box fit it.

thanks for the advice, i hadn't actually planned my attack on them yet, just bought the set today ($8.80 with injector plugs thank you very much )

sr16 eh? what are they out of? would the SR20 box bolt up to the back of that? its not the awesome vvt motor is it? hows that 1200 wags coming along?

Yeah they are in pulsars and have that NEO VVL ( dont know if all do ).
Still just looking into it. From what I have read they have the same style block as SR20's and people fit the sr16 heads to sr20's. They have the same 86mm bore like sr20's but a 68.7mm stroke. From what I hear of fwd sr20's not bolting to rwd boxes, I am guessing the same applys with these. When I get the time in the next few months I will go measure one up and see.

I am sure someone is going to pop their head up and say it cant be fit in a 1000 because of the dizzy and coolant outlet/inlet.

The 1200 wagon has slowed ( not been touched ) for a week or 2. I welded the drivers side doors and joined the frame of the roof. Next i will weld in the strip on the roof. I started a new job the other week and after work I have been doing a bit of work for my own customers. By the time I get home and relax abit, its too late to be grinding and ####.
