cool, is that a little large for the little a12 though? i'm not too up to speed on the back pressure thing but have heard that its quite important in a N/A powered car. that'd be fairly freakin loud too i'm guessing with one muff!

doesn't seem to have made the performance any worse seems to have improved torque at lower revs and the webers feel to be giving more pull through the revs to 8000'ish. as for loudness it's not too bad, but definitley louder and a way better note than the old one

the mufflers a baffle type which the zorst bloke felt confident would maintain enough back pressure.

Looks like tuned length extractors to me.

Once the gas has been "extractor'd" get it out as fast as possible.

Back pressure, that is so 80's.

2.5 inch is a superb choice for the A-series in Hot tune. Looks like a real A-series contender at next years DatNats for the track day.

Great work Boof. Looks like you made wise choice. Do it it once, do it right, well done.

Benny

Looks nice boofhead- I am in the process of doing a 2.5" system for my A15 in stainless. I'll post some pics when its done. I was a bit lazy & just went straight back from the extractors instead of down the trans tunnel like this system. 2.5" probably is too big, i reckon 2" or 2.25" would be better on a road car. I only went 2.5" cos I got the stainless tube for free

you can sure ask but you could struggle getting the same price from what i've found ... cost me $350 work involved extractors cut back to the collector with 2.5" flange, all mandrel bends thru a baffled muffler and out a shiney new 2.5" chrome tip all tucked neatly up under the floor and out of site.

definitly hoping to make my mark on behalf of the little A-series, thanks benny

grunter, i had a 2" system and this seems to be running better .... will find out on sunday for the melbourne meet. the sedan's pretty much just a road car, but no where near a daily driver, and goes flat knacker when its driven, the baffled muffler seems to do a good job in the noise stakes i think if you were going to run a straight thru systemwith a straight thru muffler then the 2.5" might be a little big.

Yup that's what I used Lukey race muffler. Should have gone for baffles- now I will have to put another hot dog in it.

straight through ute exhaust

Like Boofhead, this only cost $200, but that's cos I got everything cheap or free & did the work myself. You would expect to pay $210 for the muffler, $30-40 each for the mandrel bends, not sure how much for the tube.... $40/m ?? and probably 2-3 hrs labour..... so somewhere around $500-600 AUD would be fair.
