Most common:
1. Use lowering blocks on the rear leaf springs
2a. Australia: buy new front springs
2b. Rest of world: cut the front coil springs (i.e. 1/2 or 3/4 coil cut)

I don't know, I don't buy new stuff when modifying it works. The traditional american way is to cut the springs. The Australian government says it is unsafe, but thousands of americans have proven it is safe. The only real problem is if you cut them too far. Start with 1/4 coil cut. If you cut two coils off, well sure it will be unsafe, the spring is now too short to fit between the mounts at full extension.

Yes, but not very much. If you remove the larger middle spring it lowers a bit and the ride improves, but it doesn't handle as well.

I like the front spoiler (air dam). What was it originally designed for?

According to his profile, this member lives in Central America. I wonder where his closest Repco dealer is.
Did he have his location details up when you offered that advice?
Edit
Oops, just saw TnPshow's post.

D/Lover.
If leaving out one leaf from the rear was an actual improvement then Datsun would have done it from new, saved a dollar, cut the price of the car by 50 cents & made even more profit.
The 'best' way to lower it is to have the rear springs reset, but the most common method is to use lowering blocks between the spring & the axle. 2" [50mm] seems to be a practical amount.
