My new exhaust

Exotic Exhausts at Sumner Park fitted twin pipes under the middle of the car to give the car more ground clearance. The previous exhaust would foul all but the smallest speed bumps. The muffler was also replaced for a quieter one as I'm getting old. Matty |

Re: My new exhaust According to my calculator, assuming that I pressed the right buttons, an exhaust pipe with an inside diameter of 3" would have a cross section of 7.06 square inches.
A pipe with an inside diameter of 2-1/8" [2.125"] will have a cross section of 3.54 square inches. If we use two pipes of this size, we get 7.09 square inches, which is near as damn the same as the single large pipe. The reduction of about 1" in diameter doesn't sound all that much, but if it allows you to tuck the pipes up into a position where they allow normal vehicle operation, then that's the way to go.
Bigger isn't always better. [At least that's what I try & tell the women] Good thinking, & good move.

Re: My new exhaust Thanks Dodgeman. We did all the measurements for flow and weight to make sure it wouldn't be a step backwards in terms of horsepower. I like the fact that it has improved the practicality of my car as I love driving it but I was very limited as to where I could take it. It's very frustrating having your destination decide which car you take. Matty
