Right hand slick caught some previously dropped oil causing car to turn hard into barrier and roll. Rod is OK. Caris being repaired.

This is a real shame and shocked hundreds of fans yesterday at Taupo's new Lakeside Raceway. EDIT Car is well on the way to recovery.Plans are to run at Willowbank in Aussie and run a 7.5 sec 1/4.

From this photo, the damage doesn't look all that bad. All the major elements still seem to be in the right places [wheels, wheelie bars, engine, glass, parachute, etc.] I'm guessing that the front clip is a one piece fiberglass affair which could easily be replaced. The door opening doesn't look distorted, so I assume that the door is a jetisonable item too.

If there is any major damage to the front structure, it can't be easily seen in this picture.

Hopefully it is repairable, even if only as a backup vehicle.

Edit. I have now seen the front in another photo. It looks like it wasn't too bad, so lets hope that the looks are not deceiving.
