I think this has a mid mounted sr20 driving the rear wheels,

they are front whell drive ., turbo models had the E-15ET the non turbo models had an E-16.

it's a sports sedan,so it could be rear wheel drive ,especially the way it's power oversteering.

looks good. apart from the rear wing of, it reminds me alot of Christine Gibson's Group C EXA

Yes, we had Pulsars here in North America.

This is the 1984-up model. We got a turbo model, but I don't think it was called Pulsar EXA. Just called "Pulsar Turbo" if I remember correctly. I wanted one in 1984 ...

The MR2 is mid-engine RWD. The Pulsar was front-engine FWD (FF as the japanese say). Very different beasts, the Pulsar was a sporty economy car, while MR2 was a true sports car with no back seat.

there was a turbo version of the Pulsar in Aus, known as the Pulsar ET turbo.

The EXA was built on the same platform and used the same engine and mechanical (apart from rear discs), but it is not a Pulsar, however closely related they are.

Yes, Pulsar Turbo was sold in USA. My wife even got to drive one as a loaner car during the 80s. Not sure exactly which years the turbo model was offered. Maybe not the first year 1983. It seems to have been largely forgotten: Quote:

I have had many of the north american pulsars . I raced them fora long time here in the southern U.S. The only diff. between the EXA & the pulsar is the badges . I still own one 84 model ( non turbo) E-16. The pulsar over in OZ looks totally different.

I hate to tell you this matbighat, buuuuuut they did sell the pulsar NX with the E15T here in the U.S. I had one . they are slim pickins here in the southern part of the U.S. iI don't know how many in other parts of the U.S. though. They started selling in the later part of 83 & continued in 84 . I don't think there was anymore after that. but they did sell here.

I am friends with the owners son. This car has been running for a while now. It was sighn writen in TNT freight coulours a while ago.

COUP1200, I remeber seeing the car in its TNT colours at a QLD Hillclimb Championship a couple of years ago. Nice car. I've got photos somewhere

the group c exa turbo is currently on display at the bathurst racing museum,so anyone going to bathurst can have a look.the museum is located at the bottom of conrod straight,& also has a large collection of racing motorcycles. always worth a visit.

Christine Gibsons car was at datnats this year I do believe, running quite respectably.
