Very nice car. I like them more because there are few of them. Out of the ones still on the road, few if any look as nice as this one.

These Datsuns were used extensively in competition in Europe and in Japan.
I got some interesting pictures. Nice competition Datto

This is the Datsun Cherry, not an F10, but in the same spirit. Are these Datsuns similar in their configuaration??? I like them both.

Another nice 120A. In the US these where the F10 , correct me if wrong. Nice car, specially with nice wheels and good suspension.

Some nice photos there that I havent seen before. I have never seen pics of them racing !! Its a shame there is no under bonnet pics

The F10 is also known as cherry aswell and the earlier cherry is the E10 variation and after the F10 came the N10.

Believe it or not the top and bottom pics are the same car at different stages of it's restoration. It is now in the top guise after a rebuild from a bad crash.

I wish I could have its early style front grill. That style is as rare as rocking horse **** here.

Skye, just look around, check E bay and inquire around. I was able to score a rare 160J grille for my 710. I also scored a rare early 180B grille for my 610.

I will loook for some pixes, there is a guy in Finland that has a very nice Cherry, I think he posted here, but I can not remember his name. I might have a picture of his car somewhere in my PC.

Stirlingmac, that is most interesting, I never even imagined these pictures, and the car in question were related.

What engine your car has Skye? Any plans for modifications?

Love the car, love the color , love the wheels, love the mirrors, would lower the front springs a bit, not sure about the bonnet scoop.

Yeah, I like the colour & wheels too, but those big eye headlight rims make it look outstanding, almost sci-fi. From the photos, I prefer the frontal treatment that you have now, but I'll go with Sidedraught by saying that I don't think that the scoop is an asset.
Great looking car none the less.
Just my tuppence worth.

The car is currently running an A15 with twin 40dcoe's. The enine is currenly being rebuilt because it smokes quite alot. Im doing some serious research into a SC setup (it would be the only one in the UK). The bonnet vent was a necessary at the time when I fitted the A15 due to the extra block height the stock carb sat proud of the bonnet. Not needed now because of the twin carbs.
When I eventually get hold of the earlier style grill I will need the bonnet to go with it aswell as the front profile of the bonnet is different. (5 years of been looking out for that grill )
The spot lights are more of a necessity than anything else. You would get more light from a pair of candles than from the stock headlights .

edit: any constructive criticism is more than welcome

The exhaust is a custum Stainless steel job, a single pipe from the mainfold running to a single box approx central under the car. There are two outlets from the box curving forward back towards the front of the car then curving back round and running along the sills. I personnaly think it is a true work of art. All credit to a company called longlife exhausts tho.... way beyond my fabricating abilities!!

And it could use an engine swap. Those transaxles are weak as hell. Had a friend with a hot rod A15 in his and he went through about three of them...

US-spec Datsun F10 is similar, but I don't know if it's exactly the same.
