9 inch is better under bigger flares. I had the same type of small-flared ke25 corolla with the same setup with 9 inch dunlop mesh wheels and they kept smacking the flares over bumps till they shot bits of the flares into the grill of a tailgating idiot behind me.

man that looks nice!! have to have alot of horses to justify 215s on such a small car. they would look good on a datto though.

Hy. I got these pics and more at a Toyota meet in the city of Long beach, California, where the Queen Mary(old legendary cruise ship) is docked.I got late to the meeting, missing many nice cars, but I got some nice ones, and I saw the same little corollas(comparable to 1200) with 15, 16, even 14 inch wheels, let me tell you, they where no match, this set up is the winner one. About the manufacturers recomendations, those are made with safety safeguards(not driving, but legal safety safeguards)companies are always way on the safe side,(lawsuits) check out racing cars and check the tire/wheel combos. Racing is more demamding than street(regular street). I have on another car yokohamas AVS 215/55/14 , and I tried them in 14X7 as recomended, the sidewalls would not expand, making the tire way taller than it should be, in the current wheel, a 14X8, the 215/55/14 is excelent,....( the 610 rear wheel is the 205/55/14 on 14X8,the wheels where not made for the 610, so they come out a bit, 14X8 wheels should fit inside the fender completely if the wheels would have been made to fit the 610. I just put them there to replace the skinny stock 14X4.5 610 wheels, not my type.My plan{610} calls for probably 13X10 with 235/50/13 wheels all around the 610, or rear 245/50/14 on 14X10 and front 14X8 with the 205/55/14 , but made to fit.)....... both performancewise and in expansion. About the flares, it is a matter of having a strong suspension, combined with the right flares, all competition cars have flares when the tires go out, some classes do not allow for wider wheels/tires(as in stock) than a predetermined limit, so many times spacers are used, so what appears to be wide tires with big flares is just big flares with regular tires (limited in size) to enlarge the width of the track.If you guys want, I have pixes of the engine and other fotos, but those are toyota,I am a Datsun guy, but in these events you see cool things, open minded,at Mazda meets I always see nice Datsuns with rotary engines. This Sept, there is a Mazda meet, I will take pixes of rotary datsuns.{At the Toyota meet,I was told there was a 120Y with a 4AGEZ engine, but I got late to see it, it was gone!.} I hope you like the 13 pixes, it is all in the name of our Datsuns.

My suspension was pretty hard but obviously not enough

I will get some pics of the rotary Datsuns in September. There is 20B 3 rotor Datsuns, 510. 1200, 120Y, might see new ones this year. Will bring them in.
