Re: A/C compressor location There was a factory aircon option for the Datsun 1000, so i presume that there was also one for the 1200. Does anyone have a 1200 parts book to confirm?
If the pictured compressor is a York twin cylinder, then the poor little engine must have been all but castrated when it was running as efficiency was not one of the design's atributes. Them's was power hungry bastards them's was.
If anyone knows where i can source a factory compressor mount for the A10 & pre '74 A12 engines, i would be most gratefull to hear from you.

Re: A/C compressor location It was not a factory option. It was dealer-added (blessed by Nissan North America).
Newer JDM Sunny Trucks appear to have factory A/C.
That compressor looks heavy enough and sitting far enough to the side to make the 1200 list! Especially being on the driver's side ...

Re: A/C compressor location The trucks were dealer installed too and there are many styles that made it onto them.

Re: A/C compressor location I bet that old Yorkie works great right next to the exhaust manifold!
