Yes, they were offered in North America, but only in Canada, from 1969. Notice that it is left drive. There was also a parts car involved with this when it was built up with the A15.
I have seen some Canadian brochures for these & perhaps I should add one to my collection.

Its still going up becuase people every so often drag it up to make comment like "why is this so popular" so everybody looks!

That and it is a 1000 so everybody would be looking at it anyway

well, i googled "nice little canadian" and came up with a lot of results for travel and tourism. you know, nice little canadian pub, nice little canadian get away, etc.

Yeah, I've seen pics of this one in the past, it's a beaut. I think it was/is in Vancouver, which is only about 3-4 hour drive from Seattle. I wonder if he'll sell? Or would the 1000 be "too small" for me? I'm 6'1" tall. In the 1200 I have to hunch down at an intersection to see the traffic lights.

A Datsun is never too small, you just adapt to the situation. Unless a ute, which gives you not much area, in a 1000, 1200 , B210 or any, just throw the seat back. I had a buddy that was tall, when he drove his 710 Datsun, his face was actually at the rear, like the rear seat, he would seat with his specially made seat rails (extended) and the drivers seat was very into the rear area. It was hillarious to watch, like there was no driver, but a rear passenger and a ghost driver. No excuses

the guy who bought my old 1000 coupe is very tall - must be 6'4" and he loves the little thing! You do kinda expect to see big floppy shoes, bright curly wig and a big red nose on him when you see him clambering in and out of it, but he doesn't seem to mind.
