These generic bullets were the closest I could find to GX mirrors (they don't come in black, unfortunately) and they only come on a really short stalk. got that sorted with a bit of old windsurfing boom, flattened a bit and polished. came up alright I reckon :)

I got the mirrors from rare spares here in WA, no name brand though and expensive at $52 each, but look better than the plastic #### you get from super-cheap auto

There's a crowd in Victoria called Australian Auto Accessories (Ph 1800 722 227) or e-mail australianauto@a1.com.au who sell these same mirrors....obviously not with the quality extension detailed in the photo...nice job..!!

I haven't ordered a pair yet but they currently sell them for $49.00 (AUD) each.
Details....flat lense, metal housing, zinc base, 2 bolt mounting, highly polished chrome finish.

Give them a call. They won't COD but take credit cards.

The extension looks really good.....you should make them.....I'll buy some.!!!

Re: Bullet mirrors with "custom" alloy extension
"Custom" means knocked together in the back yard on a sunday arvo..... when I say the back yard, thats what I mean- no shed or workbench at my joint. I hacked off the tube with an angle grinder, bashed it flat with a rubber mallet and opened it back out with screwdrivers, 1/4 and 3/8 extension bars, then roughed it out with an orbital and finished up with wet and dry. not difficult at all.

The difficult bit is setting them up. Because the ute cabin is so short, it gives you really bad angles to work with. The mirrors have to be mounted as far down the doors as possible to work at all, or on the front guards, but then they are too small to see anything out of. The drivers side one is ok, you have to look at it through the 1/4 window though. However I couldnt get enough angle on the passenger side mirror, so its pretty much just cosmetic...... It gives you a clear view of the blind spot, but you have to move your head to the middle of the cabin to see down the side of the car.

Spewin.
I'll try and get some pics of them on the car.
