its definately old skool kinda reminds me of a fibreglass caravan i worked on

looks so much like a mazda bongo front end but with the limitless practicality of sliding doors!

I miss my transit with sliding doors.

Apart from the very familiar looking hubcaps, ummmmmm, ............ no.

Eagle eyes get the worm. Yes, those hubcaps look very familiar. I would say they are almost certainly 1200 wheel covers. Does that imply they based this prototype on B110 parts? Maybe the struts were used? Or maybe only the wheel coverings. Perhaps someone in Silicon Valley could talk to the USPS historian and gather more information...

It is a Prototype which had Datsun 1200 hubcaps. The motor was electric. It was built for US Postal Service delivery van trials.



The production Harbilt USPS truck was first tested at Cupertino, California in 1971 and was still in service in 1982. Cupertino switched its entire fleet of about 30 delivery vans to Harbilt. Later versions did not sport Datsun 1200 hubcaps. They had far more low speed power than regular cars, but very low high speed power. Topped out about 30 mph. But accelerated 0-10 mph very fast.
