Re: datsun 1000 a15 turbo engine i think its all standard datsun stuff exept for the cam and valve springs, out side the motor it has a nissan/garret tarbin, 1.75 cd stromberg carb, water meth.,modified three row radiator, lightend flywheel, custom twin diaphram pressure plate, solid clutch plate, ford 4-speed, and a holley blue fuel pump that comes on at about 5 psi.

Re: datsun 1000 a15 turbo engine lord have mercy, you're running this rocket ship on a single circuit master cylinder.unless this is an old photo,it's simple to change to a split system from a 1200 coupe or sedan.you don't need a vaccum booster, but you can do what i did on my 1000 racer & get a brand new master cylinder from a sunny (13/16's) & change the rod over on the back to bolt it straight in.you just take the triangular shaped circlip out,& the rod can be removed. use the hard lines & splitter block from the 1200,especially the line to the rear brakes.

Re: datsun 1000 a15 turbo engine yeah the car was featured in zoom awhile back and it popped up in street machine a few months ago (the previous owner sent them in before i bought it). thanks for the info regarding the master cylinder set up, i was a bit suspect when i first saw the standard set up but she seems to pull up alright, my brother just started a repco il`l see if he can get me a good price on a sunny set up. Its got dba slotted 1200/120y rotors up front and standard 120y set up at the rear.where did you race your 1000?

Re: datsun 1000 a15 turbo engine i used to do hillclimbs in my 1000 coupe, there are photos in the racing section of it in action.i ran the nsw state championship,& raced at bathurst, parkes, newcastle, grafton, tamworth, canberra & wollongong.it was only 1300cc's,but was a real hoot to drive.it also did a 9.7 sec time in a drag race, but this was over an 8th mile.

Re: datsun 1000 a15 turbo engine How does that rad hold up with the extra HP? Me and dattoman1000 are looking at bigger radiators atm for our 1000's. I only have a mild A15 in mind.
What we've found so far is VN-VS commodore V6 Z32 300ZX N13 Pulsar
All of these will require the battery tray to be cut down and a smaller battery used.
