 Re: Tyrie
because datsuns are no longer a cheap car :(

the sigma, 2.6L 5-speed with aircon was $250 with roadworthy... Find a datsun thats better value.
There was a mint stanza for sale near my house, stocker 4-speed and he wanted $1750 for it... bit too much for a daily until I get my 120Y

Tyrie

I went through 3 sigmas in my youth....they are pretty good. Have some dodgy 'hi tech' features I could have lived without.

Like wax pellet choke, that funny rev balancing thing that held your revs between gear changes.

At least it's RWD!

 Re: Tyrie
the sigma is gooone!

took it along some rally tracks, got lost and ended up going down a really steep slope and couldnt get back up Had to take my tools and leave it there. 3 hour walk through thick scrub in the dark to get to the nearest main road

 Re: Tyrie
goddammit it was a fkn good car! I had it for 6 days lol

heres a pic you can see the slope in the back if you tilt your head. it would get about 1/3 of the way up and just dig in. There was another even steeper slope after this one. I had no chance.

 Re: Tyrie
my dad asked when i got home did I let the tryes down... do I didnt, but I dont think it would've helped much. Its almost vertical at the top. There were huge ditches/boulders to prevent getting out another way.
On the plus side i can get another datsun now

do you have any mates with a 4wd? it could be time for a sigma recovery mission!
even an old subaru brumby will do the trick, I have seen old subarus go places landcruisers or patrols would think twice about

after thinking about what the bill will be like once the rangers find it (they'll probably hire a chopper or something at my expense to remove it), I've decided a sigma recovery mission is the way to go.
Taking a mates Patrol out there on saturday to hopefully get it back, providing it hasnt been trashed/torched/stolen by then.

Nothing a little speed won't fix. . .

Are you familiar with a "handbrake locker"?

 Re: Tyrie
Problem is theres a big drainage mound near the bottom which I couldnt take at speed, it would just nosedive into the ground on the other side.

handbrake locker... I dont believe I know that one

 Re: Tyrie
if you cant get it out maybe you should just say it was pinched?
or take a cordless drill out and take the id tags and plates off

they've got plenty of torque, but dont rev very well. Get sideways pretty easy. Also doesnt take mutch to get them stuck at the bottom of hills ;)
