That is pretty cool, but I sense some people might cringe that you'd do that to something worth $100-$300...and getting rarer by the day

These are the most sought after L series cam covers.

Friggin gold mate!! You can get ones like taht they say Datsun 1300 OHC from the P510 1300cc, they got the twist oil cap like a a-series though.

thats the one i was looking for, 1300 ones are much cooler
but had to settle for ripping this off a 1600 at a wreckers, good times

The 68's have ribs running down over the front of the cover and have a twist cap, come in 1300,1400 and 1600. The 69's like the one pictured have the screw cap like any other L-series they arent as rare, still costly, dont think they come in a 1300 or 1400 though. Have seen 1800 ones too on SSS bluebirds.

yeah the metal filler cap ones are worth $300, these are around $100 (although I couldnt get that much for mine so its hanging on the wall)

so ill have to go hunting for one of the cool ones, seem to suit the 1200 better with the metal cap

yeah, its my plan that the cops (if they ever do open the bonnet) will see the datsun and look else where
