I don't have a decent pic of my car posted.  So, here it is.
I've been to Japan 4 times yet I found the license plate in Los Angeles. Go figure.

Thanks guys, by the way this is the good side. You dont want to know what the other side and back look like.

I don't care for the rubber bumpers. I think it looks cleaner with out them. I'm just to lazy to take them off. Like DD mentioned these are 73 items, even the brackets are beefier.

I found the plate at the JCCS in Long Beach. It was $20. If I remember correctly, it is from Narashino.

OK, that makes sense. 習志野 is Narashino.

$20 is a good deal for a genuine plate, as fake ones cost $15-20 each iirc.

Japan License Plate

"52" indicates a plate issued between 1967 and 1997. 5-code means 2-litre or smaller, but bigger engine than a K-car.

They're different bumper over-riders than the ones that I have seen on 1200's before.
Does anyone know the story on these?

Those are 1973 USA bumpers. Not as bad as the 1974 bumpers ...

So, ... what are the chrome over-riders with the rubber face piece. Are they also genuine 1200 items, or accessory? This is the type that I have seen on 1200's in other photo's

1971-1972 has chrome overriders with rubber face. You can see it on my car in the other picture.

Obviously the earlier style doesn't protect the car much. Also proven with experience...any little tap on the older bumper overriders twists the whole bumper. I expect the 1973 style is a bit better.
