well i talked to him and it seems like a good buy to me, but i talked to a mate with injection and he said 35mm is pretty small if you have a worked engine or want to do your engine up cause my mate has 48mm ijection or sumthing

they guy reckons he had it on his mate race car but who knows

A surge tank is not required ... is the surge tank for racing (high Gs)?

A surge tank is highly advisable, whether road or race.

Please explain why a surge tank is advisable. Many/most OEM setups don't use them.

 Re: EFI system for sale
That's why standard EFI cars tanks are internally baffled to cope with surge. Surge tanks are just an easier way to combat surge when converting a carby car to EFI. It's easier than replacing the tank. My car runs this system and runs low 12's soon to be 11's ( by october or i'm selling it) how's yours go ddgonzal?

Just asking ... I wasn't saying you didn't know what yer talkin about. My 1200 was carbureted. My three current cars are injected, and I didn't realize the tanks were internally baffled. Good info.

Damn.........I meant to call him today and chat about it.

Anyone in the Penrith area want to go take a look at it for me and see if its worth the $$ and is complete ready to bolt on.I'll pay your fuel bill.

I'm keen to inject and this might be my easiest way.

I can't believe the poor quality of the photos. That would worry me. Seems risky. You'd be better off to research and make your own.

They're also very long. Do you guys think they'd fit in a 1200 Engine bay? Especially if you needed to put air filters on them. It's not real safe running open throat side draughts.

Chris.

 Re: EFI system for sale
i went and looked at this setup, late last year....It was made for a compact sprint car running a-series engine. The manifold is very well made.....nice welds etc etc. as for the injection side of it, they are off a motorcycle. 35mm, quite small.

The ecu is a haltec unit "E6K" from memory. overall not a bad buy for $1500.....well thats what he was asking last year. the only thing that swayed me away from buying was the size of the butterflies as they are only 35mm.

Cheers

I think this is SteveH's old setup. Anyway dattoman if you are serious i live about 10 minutes away form penrith and can go look at them on the weekend if you're keen. I'm with dattodude they look too long to fit in a 1200 bay (please correct me if i'm wrong) but in a 1000 with no strut towers there shouldn't be a problem.
