I'd just drop an A12 back in there. Plenty of room, you could change a rear seal without pulling the engine :)

 You never know
Just reinforce it with some bars at the bottom and trim a little off the sides and the rest writes itself

 Re: You never know
This would make a great sports sedan with an alloy Nissan V8 out of the Infinity. This was built to accommodate a 302 windsor and the Nissan V8's are almost a direct copy of the windsor. You would only need to have a stock engine to have huge power to weight. Its still available for around $1000 AUS.... even less now as I think the guy wants to really move it and make some room. PM me for the guys mobile. I reckon it may go for $500 AUS who knows??? I know it was built and running with full engineers certificate at one stage with a 302.

I think it's pretty cool. It's not easy to visualise how to get this going. I'd say that a lot of brainwork went into the firewall mods and all the rest of the mods. It's built on the SummerNats mentality...which can be loosely described as "It does great burnouts, so why not?".

I've thought about a few V8 conversions into small cars. Mostly I thought about using a BMW 320/325i and replacing it with a twin turbo V8 Corvette motor. Something like the Sledgehammer motor. This is legal in NSW AUS, and would make a very nice car indeed.

That was my dreamcar for a while, But I quickly realised it wasn't my style..or in my price range.
