Im thinking bout buying this 120y, Is fully stock except rims, new battery, brakes serviced, new tyres, interior is pretty immaculate seems to have no cracks in dash in pictures, I could get it for $1500 which i think is pretty good. If I went to sell again do u reckon i wud make my money back, n wud this be worth doing up, if not im just gunna wait till a find a nice 1200 ute to fix up

If you want it and want to pay $1500 go for it, but good luck making your money back, let alone a profit.
If it was a 1200 then yeah, but 120Y's dont seem to go for the same dollars, I dunno why though, coz 120Y's are clearly the better car

Me I'd pay $800, nothing more. Theres still a few good stockers coming up for under $1000, wait for one of them to come up

I got a very nice stocker for $580, but then once I had fixed a few things paid for RWC and rego it all added up.

I reckon the difference between $500 and $1500 is nothing in the long run. Once youve paid for hose here, plugs there,a little upgrade, and a tank of fuel, it will add up to to $1000 easy. So if its the right car for you, just go for it.

I'd say its in the game at @$1500. Looks and sound clean. I have seen the $500 120Y's and there not pretty, mostly good for wrecking. I am a 1200 man, but i have seen some crazy 120Y's with FJ20T and SR20T and then can do dammage on the street.

thanks for the replies, im thinking now that i might just wait for a 1200 to come my way but if i can get the 120y a bit cheaper i think i might go for it n just keep it stock while i save for a 1200 ute.

120ys are now worth $3k plus???

HAHAHA I got my 120y coupe for free... drove it for 3 years then crushed it.. and it had 1 spot of rust (size of a 10c coin).

I think people are crazy to pay $3k for a stock 120y... but price is only determined by demand!

A used car yard up here was advertising one for 3000 a while back and it was no where near as nice as mine

Ive just found a 120y fast back for $1500 prolly negotiable so ill try for $1300, sound to be in good nick wit new orange paint job, goin to check out on wednesday n prolly buy it, then save up for a15 conversion or mabe even go ca 18det, ill post some pics up of it if i get it.
