No it was the Dacia Elan, but the possibility is great that it was the same vehicle being sold under different names in different countries. The text as it's a little unclear;

Quite possible the worst vehicle we have ever tested, the Dacia Elan was a high-interest test in June, seeing as it was the cheapest bakkie at the time by some margin. We thought the best thing about it was the 10-ton jack behind the seats... The driveshaft perished with a bang during our acceleration runs!
