This is how the wags sits as of 3/2007. Hasnt even been 2 months off the road and the whole car is stripped and all welding is done. A fresh A15 will be going in very soon! Comments are most welcome!

Little update.

I put the 1000 sedan leaves in today. Probably about 1" lower, if that. Still too high for what i want but i spose its a step foward. New nolothane bushes dont hurt either(~$20 a set).

Once its all up and rolling again it should drop a little. Its been jacked up and down a bit and not moved so its probably sitting high still.

Oh i also drew flames all over the primer... I dont think they will make paint tho.

Sounds like a chellange Mike

I would say a 1000 engine bay is about the same physical dimentions as 110/210 but like stated above hight limited. And we dont have those poxy strut towers in the way of where 4 big chrome ram tubes should be!

Gotta get started on my coupe dash next. A $50 special, thats right $50 for a complete 1000 coupe dash. metal part, crash pad(cracked) and intrament cluster!

Its all so exiting!!!

Through the years the all alloy pressure die cast lightweight engines I found that will fit nicely thanks to their compact sizes with sump mods and custom oil pick-ups, gearbox adapters etc.
All under 100kgs fully dressed.

1. renault 800 series hemi crossflow (1647ccc) slanted 20 degrees
2. renault fuego douvrin 2 and 2.2 (2.3 big bores) slanted 20 degrees
3. suzuki g16b (1590cc and 1740 big bore)
4. suzuki j18,20 and 23 (1.8,2 and 2.3ltr)
5. scat v4 (3400cc)
7. daihatsu hd (1589cc)

All above 1.6 and over.

Update, A15 is in!!!

It would be running but the poxy oval port manifold prospec gave me in really low and fouls on the extracters. Im buying another off KDOGG tomorro so hopefully its different.

What a swine trying to hammer the tunnel for the 1200 clutch fork when the engine/box is in place. I think i got it tho!

why not go a bike motor? A hayabusa on youtube is supposedly putting out 499bhp with a reasonable size turbo on it. Imagine how that would go in a 1000....

Keep up the good work chris! Don't forget its gotta make it to morely tuesday night

Yeh been meaning to put that coupe dash pic up, but becasue of this gay bloody MAC i cant resize images very well, they end up tiny once their under the required 100kb. So im using and abusing ozdats system

Yeh so what ive done recently to her is
-Coupe dash
-Excel radiator (theres a thread on that in my pic gallery)
-Bogging/sanding
-Running A15 and doing little burnouts (im trapped between a EH and a shed!)
-Bought a new hatch with a cool original sticker "NEW DATSUN 1000"
-Just doing little bits and peices

Happy Mike? Maybe this will help you get yours done quicker!

Is the engine bay smaller or bigger than a 1200 or 120y? i have no knowledge of b10s "correct me if im wrong on model code" since there isnt many here in NZ

Last one i saw was rusting away on a farm in Coalgate.

Re: 1000 Wags: Work in progress
It's a member of the B10 family of fine cars, but being a 'Van' [wagon] it is a VB10 & the engine bay does not have the suspension towers to clutter the engine bay, however, it's a smaller car than the newer models, so the chassis is a little narrower & the distance from crossmember to the underside of the bonnet is also less. Length seems to be on a par with the 1200.

The 120Y engine bay is quite cavernous, & is actually big enough to take a Holden V8 without firewall or tunnel mods. [it's been done]
