 Re: Armbrust rocker cover.
I was talking with Benny last year when he told me of these rocker covers that he was organising to buy, .... would I be interested in one? Hell yeah, so a another was added to the order. These were not 'finish machined' so would require some work once they got here.

I was inspired by some pictures that I had seen on the site of some Cherry models with these on, so I jumped at the chance.

A thing of beauty I thought.

This is how they arrived.

The oil filler cap that was provided was some dinky rubber POS that was a simple 'push-in' thing from a late model Nissan I believe. It just wasn't right, but needed only a simple hole bored into the cover to make it work.

I felt that an oil filler cap from an L series was more suitable & certainly they should be readily available, so it fell to me to come up with some donor cam covers & caps. These are the inserts salvaged from the L series cam covers in their rough machined stage.
When all the machine work was finished, Jeff [R-fast] welded the collars in place from underneath after carefully positioning each one so that the lettering on the cap is correctly aligned for a viewer to read from the front of the car. It's the little things that make a difference.

Benny then called me to tell me of an unusual filler cap on eBay that might interest me. Always up for something unusual, I bought it at a reasonable price & put it aside.
Apparently Elephant oil was Nissan's own oil & was so named after some dazzling successes in an African rally season. The text, I'm told, says 'Use Elephant Oil' U'mmmm, OK, sure thing.

I have yet to determine the crankcase breather arrangement, & these have provision for two, but only one will be used. Which one? Don't know yet, but probably the rear one in the stock format.
I don't know if I want to powder coat it & polish the highlights, or leave it as is. Never mind, no rush.

This link will take you to the relevant thread & you will be able to deal direct with Gunther yourself. This way you get the good oil on availability, current pricing & shipping costs.

The machining that is needed to finish it off will need to be discussed with whoever you ask to do the work.

I don't remember when these were organised, but it was AT LEAST six months ago, & possibly as much as a year.
