13x7 Watnabes painted and polished with new 205/60. I wanted smaller rubber on the front (smaller overall dia) but nobody makes em any more!!! I have to flare the guards. Rear shouldnt be a prob but fronts are gonna be a swine! Then lower another 2" on the back and around 1" on the front

175/50's on only 7's is tame. the tyre fitters over there obviously need to grow some nuts lol.
i have seen plenty of 175's on 8's but they are usually 60's and the mag has a very high valley. if it wont bead just bead blast it. sorted

185x60x13 was a stock BMW 3 series size from memory, so you shouldn't have much trouble finding some, & these have the same outside diameter as the original 5:50x12's.

cheat, i think your tire mounters are a little more aggressive in nz than oz

the problem with overstretching a 185/60 is that it has a smaller contact patch than a 175/50

wasn't somebody showing a pic of a tire being stretched and a guy blowing air into it to help it bead?

Re: Watanabes painted and polished and 205/60
maybe. for my sake i hope so. some of them suck and just burst beads but you dont go to them lol.
I realise that smaller tyre on wider rim has less surface area contacting the road but if its super low with no rubbing and an agressive look then stretching is the way to go.
But i have no mor on this subject. somehow it always starts into a sh*t fight. sick 1000 sick mags wiked sick all round

ok a little update

All corners flared. Came up really well! All i did was hammer the flat lip bit in then flare out with a hammer and dolly. rears are all covered but fronts stick out a little. shouldnt rub though... i hope!

185/60 are on the front, getting painted 9 june! 1week before the cruise!

i think that's a better route than bolt on flares which tends to make sunny's look like toyotas or something

love the wheels, but those 205's look balloony

a 185/60 or even a 175/50 for the stretched look would be nice

remember we can get those cheapy sumitomos here in the states if you can budget the shipping

sumitomo sizes

Cheers for the link mat, 175/50's streched over would be nuts! It doesnt like it when i put my postcode in for shipping to aussie. Anybody able to work it out for me? Ben(Kue1000), you get tires from the states maybe you could special order some in for me! But yeh the 205's do look baloony.

Nobody over here can get even 185/60R13s, its crap!

Paint is going on when i get the flared guards sorted.

Cheers for the comments guys! The Wats did come up nice!

beat, two 185/60's shouldn't be too pricey to ship. Think about it before you cut or pound will you?

over here, the oldschool toyota guys stretch 175/50's all the time. i think these are 13x8" ...

but i'm sure that you couldn't even find a tyreshop to put them on for you

I didn't think there would be much grief with 185/60-13's..

what about 65's or 70's..
