No not really.

This type of set up is really only needed for very low racing car trying to get rid of bump steer.

Not only that, but if not done exactly right is more likely to increase bump steer. To get the exact length needed, a custom box can be purchased (e.g. Flaming River) or a box from another car can be cut down and rewelded.

The big street advantage is less deflection in the steering linkage, more direct feel of the steering.
