Re: i know this is a datto site but check this out I stopped using this site about 2 years ago because of the few people on here that just waffle mouth poo. And I see nothing has changed. You talk so much crap team dat. You should spend less time wearing out your keyboard and more time fixing your peice of #### car. What makes you think everyone wants to know everything you think. Just say that you like it or you dont! I think the cruiser looks absolutely awesome. But not as nice as team dats car.

Re: i know this is a datto site but check this out It's interesting how different vehicles can polarise peoples opinions, be it Dattos, Rotarys or air bagged cars. I for one can appreciate the work that went into building this car, I know it would have taken some clever engineering. It is not my dream car but I wouldn't knock anyone for building it. If it was roughly done, or poorly finished I would. I work in this industry and we have guys coming in wanting air bags and C notches in their utes when they don't have Wofs and regos and the motors are running like crap and need a tune. But you give them what they want and you know that at least what you did is safer than 99% of the homebuilt stuff....Another common mistake people seem to make is that bagged cars ride and handle like ####, they don't ,...hydrauliced cars do and I would'nt want to drive one of those too far. I would rather look at cars like these than ####boxes with cut coils, flipped springs and diffs that hit the chassis rails....

Re: i know this is a datto site but check this out *whispers* phunk is scared we will bag him for his airbagged 1000 wagon.......
at the end of the day it's not a practical daily car, and is to show how they can airbag a car for their business.....
i can think of a heap of other cars that could have had the airbags with a bigger impact. the "lowluxdeo" thing is old now, it's been a feature in hot 4's and stuff every month for the last 5 years isn't it?????
try something new, maybe airbag an 80's suzuki sierra, that would turn heads.....

Re: i know this is a datto site but check this out Hahaa Team_Dat you are a tool. Show me photos of any other 100series Landcruiser layed out on the ground. Go for it champ show me any photo from the entire world and we will add them up an see how many there are. I think Australia's first and possibly the worlds first layed out 100series is enough to turn heads. As for being practical. Well you talk like its your car. I bet it rides as good of if not better than a stock cruiser. Practical to be driven everyday to enjoy. A 100series is a lot of money to only drive once a week. As for my 1000. What makes you think I give a toss about what people of this site think of me or what I have? seriously. Either way my 1000 got cut up months ago. Im all about practicality for purpose now. Im spending my hard earned money on a painting a car that will be used to drive round in circles. Practical at its finest. Tools

Re: i know this is a datto site but check this out who would waste money on it?
seriously, at the end of the day, it was a 4wd.
now it's a 2wd that looks like a nissan Stagea with a wide body kit.
i was making light of the subject with the airbag comment regarding your 1000. i couldn't care less what you do mate, you seem a bit unhinged ot me....
i really don't see the point of turning a family 4wd or a work ute into an unusable vehicle. hence the comment on many other vehicles to airbag to make a statement.
100 series land cruisers are driven by farmers, women with kids, and men who can't justify euro car repair bills.
does it raise up to it's full original height and perform as the factory intended? i doubt it!

Re: i know this is a datto site but check this out Like I said, you are a tool. Some people like to build things they personally like. Who cares if its anything like Toyota designed. Fact is its now modified. You describe it like 100 series is a poor mans car, yet you own 120ys. you really are a tool like tyson. Dont like it - dont comment, or at least be like Converted and make humour with your comments. There is nothing impractical about this cruiser, everyday car or family car.

Re: i know this is a datto site but check this out Ahhh,it's time to break out the Bex powders me thinks, for what it's worth,i reckon these guys have done a great job of what is obviously a fantastic business promotional tool, they should have cash laden people queuing up to relieve themselves. On an engineering point i would love to look at it close up and on a hoist to marvel at what must have been a fabricators mega challenge, air bags or not.Having been involved in the fabrication of the odd racing car in my time, this is the stuff that that gives fabricators a woody wheather it's a fourby or a F1 if it's done well.Even Ron Dennis would not walk past this and not stop to have a look, however i don't think he or any of us would consider it a serious daily driver, but it must be one hell of a Tax deduction and marketing tool.Well done to the builders i say.

Re: i know this is a datto site but check this out Honestly, this conversion has probably improved the streetability of the 'cruiser. The 100 series is probably one of the worst motor vehicles I've ever driven.
I've driven better handling 7 tonne trucks in my time. Can't for the life of me understand how so many housewives can drive these ungainly behemoths confidently (oh, that's right, they can't).

Re: i know this is a datto site but check this out I have a 100 series for towing the boat and race car, great tow vehicles but for comfort and handing I go a LS400 anyday or even an LX470. It has active suspension. Actually my wife loves driving the thing and on gas its cheaper to run than our Tarago. I honestly didnt think she would like it but try prying it from her.... gimme a 1200 coupe roady anyday though.

Re: i know this is a datto site but check this out Quote: isnt that what forums are for phunk?????? even you have said many times, "if you put up a pic, expect negative comments"(maybe not in those exact words) Sorry tiger but forums are for people who enjoy reading about and learning about what ever subject the forum is based on. Is this a forum about being ignorant and showing hatred for other peoples pride and joy? As for what you claim I state many times. Well it must of been a fair while ago tige's. I believe I usually tell people to shut their mouth and think about if it was their pride and joy coping negative comments. If I felt opposite Im sure i could find comments to make on your dato. But just because its not to my taste, it doesnt mean you dont love it. Why should I try offend you for it? I still comment on the things I admire in your work. This thread has been rather interesting in showing who really enjoys allround engineering and those who have tunnel vision for what ever reason. All the negative comments seem to have lame reasons.

Re: i know this is a datto site but check this out hey Phunk,
i have not said i didn't like it so far, which i don't. thw work involved to put a car that high down that low must have been huge, but i still don't think it would be a daily driver..... and i still think it has been done to death.... maybe not with a 100 series land cruiser but come on!
thats what those guys did with the ford SUV in the US on that Garage wars with funkmaster flex. one of them slammed and bagged a 4wd SUV. still don't see the point.
they should have put Buttheads 260C with RB engine and airbags done some work to it and advertised using that.
and i'm not saying they should have used his car because it's a datsun, i'm not that nclosed minded. if i was i would own one of the "cult" model datsuns and not the bastard child 120Y.... (nice dig by the way)
and to this day i still think you ahng around here to start arguments with people.....
Later Colnol!

Re: i know this is a datto site but check this out Well well well Puppet Dear makes a comment. Now we just need Proclaimed Silent E to tell us the history of landcruiser. Puppet Dear this forum of www.datsun1200.com is solely for the love of datsun1200's but the internet is a big place and contains many forums. Like I previously wrote - this photo is a waste of space on this forum but that's all. As to the tool. Why do you seem to think this cruiser was build for advertisement. You are very closed minded to think that the shop should only have built 240c's, because thats what you are saying, any car they build is advertisement is it not? Well they have built many different types of vehicles, but im sure you would still make the same silly comment regardless of what vehicle was in the above picture. In your narrow mindedness did you stop to think Jas maybe built the cruiser because he likes them? I believe he built it because its different (you think otherwise but give silly examples) and because of its back seat. So he can drive a car he loves and take his family along for the drive Everyday. Whether this cruiser was built or the shop built a Nash Ambassador, I can tell you it would roll everyday untill the wheels fell off, then more wheels would be put on again to continue on. #### get over yourself chumps, whether you like it or not, use this car as inspiration to build your own car the way you dream you want it.

In fact you are the nastiest piece of $hite this forum has seen.

Re: i know this is a datto site but check this out being airbagged makes it look like pure wank factor
if it had no airbags it would still be useable as a normal car
give me a normal (non airbagged) car anyday

Re: i know this is a datto site but check this out Mawler , have you ever driven a bagged vehicle ??? They can be driven like any normally suspended car , you just run the bags pumped up . When it is raised the motor could be flogged like in any other vehicle. Vehicles around the world have been factory fitted with airbags since the fifies including Cadillacs,And more recently Range Rovers. Trucks and trailers also use bags as well as buses. It's a shame you are in OZ cause otherwise I'd invite to my work to try a few bagged cars and trucks to experience how properly engineered cars can ride.

Re: i know this is a datto site but check this out your reply Quote: As to the tool. Why do you seem to think this cruiser was build for advertisement. You are very closed minded to think that the shop should only have built 240c's, because thats what you are saying, any car they build is advertisement is it not? I SAID.... Quote: and i'm not saying they should have used his car because it's a datsun, i'm not that nclosed minded. if i was i would own one of the "cult" model datsuns and not the bastard child 120Y.... (nice dig by the way) you personally are a stain, i like the work you put into your cars, but sir you would be better putting pictures of your work up with a word progress and then answering questions THATS IT! too many times have i seen you turn threads to SH!T by being yourself.... who has pet names for other forum users? if you have pet names you have a history with them, and i don't see these people getting into arguments with other members so there seems to be a running theme involved! i think that it is you. you really need to take a red hot look at yourself. this is my last post in this thread. Keep it happy keep it datsun!

Re: i know this is a datto site but check this out Quote: This thread has been rather interesting in showing who really enjoys allround engineering and those who have tunnel vision for what ever reason. All the negative comments seem to have lame reasons. good point - you're into air bags aren't you? that's your particular bias (or tunnel vision) here. not to mention your insatiable appetite for name dropping your mate/hero Jas' name at every possible opportunity. I appreciate almost alll sorts of cars - I'll stop and look at rods, 4WDs, classic cars, race cars from any category, modern jap imports, old customs, bikes etc. but I don't have much time for the low lux crowd and this is just an extension of that done to the same formula. Just looks silly, ill-proportioned, and basically ugly to me. I doubt you'll find any objective observer who would say that this Landcruiser is aesthetically pleasing, or that these mods have improved its looks in any way. Only people who would are those who, for some unfathomable reason, are into bagged cars. you're saying I should look past a car's awful appearance, and appreciate the engineering that went into making it look that ridiculous? pass. just doesn't interest me. I can imagine well enough what they needed to do. I don't really care to find out the details of their mods. on the other hand, engineering done to improve a car, or to some functional benefit, or solve a difficult problem in the most elegant manner - that I'll take the time to look at.

Re: i know this is a datto site but check this out Team dat/tool what the hell is your argument? do you even know? You jumped in this thread all about saying this is a lame car to build for a shop to advertise. Get it into you head. For get about a shop. The guy built it because he likes it, what you or anyone else thinks does not even matter. Its just hopefully the same reason why you have your particular car. Champ/Tyson you like to bite but like Tyson you bite ears and the problem is people cant hear you after that. I like particular bagged cars. I cant say I like all cars. Am I narrow minded/tunnel vision? Well I dont like all cars. But do I make a point of commenting on types of cars just to say I dont particularly like them? Not likely. So what is your argument? all your reasons are contradicted in why you do things to your own vehicle. My argument with you is, dont like it, dont post. Simple. Puppet Dear. A wise man recently said to me in a PM. " I kind of miss Gixxer because he was a retard, but he was good at it." Maybe you need practice. Anyway Im off to cry. I just realised some tools dont like me. boohoo Now where is that old "What's your age?" thread? Im sure a few people bullshitted Im sure Converted's sense of humour will get a laugh from This.

Re: i know this is a datto site but check this out does the guy own the business? did he build the car? if yes to both answers he built it as an advertising tool for his business....... i don't think taking a 4WD and making it a 2WD and putting it on the ground is amazing. it's now a commodore wagon with airbags. put it on the ground and in full 4WD, thats cool but i still don't like the look of it. and i don't have to like it and i have every right to voice my opinion, in this FORUM. and you have noticed i have not gone straight to name calling, this age thread could be a good idea, name calling is a perfect example of child/ adolecent knee jerk reaction to something the bully doesn't like.... have you not noticed when people put up photos of their car with say painted bumpers, and people may have commented "i prefer chrome" or "i don't like painted bumpers" it's a matter of opinion and i don't think this picture and your comments are going to change the minds of all those disliking this car. I'm sure your mate Jas, spent a whole bucket of time on this car, but now it is another 4WD destined to drive the streets and never touch the dirt like so many others out there.....

Re: i know this is a datto site but check this out I thought it was a pretty safe bet that it was photochopped because of the amount of work that would be required to actually get it that low. I stand corrected.

Out of curiosity, didnt I read that you plan to oneday paint Andrew's coupe? what for? wouldnt that be considered pointless champ? Your car - your taste. Jas's car - his taste. Re: i know this is a datto site but check this out It's just a rolling advertisement isn't it? Only built to show what these guys can do, doubt it see's that much street duty.
If that's what it's for then I think it's pretty clever.

Re: i know this is a datto site but check this out This thing is a street driver, as I work around the corner from it. The live axle front diff is gone for the airbags as well ( at least I could'nt see the front diff!) Pass judgement if you must on whether it is to your liking, but you have to admire the workmanship and effort that has gone into it.Sounds awsome as well!!

Re: i know this is a datto site but check this out Why do people build these? for the same reason we pour thousands/tens of thousands of dollars into japanese tin boxes from the 1970s. We love owning something unique and making a statement about our personalities, you name the use and I'll be able to find a better car to suit it but none of them are as cool to US as the Datsun. I don't particularly like this style of ride and I'm already over the fad of air-bagging everything but they are works of art built by VERY skilled engineers and you have to respect the quality of their work if not the end result. Still there are sites for these types of cars and Datsun1200.com isn't it. Just my two cents...

Re: i know this is a datto site but check this out I say good on him different and obviously has come out looking sh!t hot for that style of car. They custom flares phunk or a fill/fiberglass job? if you posted it for the reason of gettin negative comments then dont do it, we all dearly love our datsuns but others dont - thus dont rag on others rides as im sure their ragging on ours dave

Re: i know this is a datto site but check this out from memory the cruiser body's been swapped to a hilux chassis, is only running rear wheel drive and has an alloy V8 in it ... sook at it not being a datto and that airbags suck and wah wah wah .... but if you cant admire the workmanship, quality and unique'ness of this, then you might as well stick to your datto and worship the road it rolls on .... i think it looks awesome and if i can get my sedan to the finished quality of this then i'll be over the moon ....... some people think a CA18 or an L series in a 1200 is a waste too ... but hey ??!!

Re: i know this is a datto site but check this out firstly, I can't see any of the workmanship so how can I admire it? secondly, it looks ridiculous and out of proportion. thirdly, all that work and "awesome engineering' is done to no purpose. It doesn't make it better at anything. Doesn't even make it look better. In fact its only made it less practical and less functional than it was before. I find it very difficult to admire that. and finally, its done to a formula, bag it and put on big shiny wheels. so I can't even admire thier creativity. Quote: Out of curiosity, didnt I read that you plan to oneday paint Andrew's coupe? what for? wouldnt that be considered pointless champ? I said I'm thinking about it. And its not pointless at all champ: - new bonnet needs painting anyway - front spoiler will also need painting - some of the panels and flares are a different white to the rest of the car - dent in drivers door and roof - some lumps and bumps in the fibreglass rear spoiler that look a bit ordinary - cracks in the lead wipes on the A and C pillars
