If you are in australia then chrome guages on the exterior of a car are illegal anyway.
But these look to not be chromed...

I think.

If you are driving with the sun behind you and another car with chromed guages is coming towards you and the sun hits the guage it can reflect back and blind you causeing you to be temporarily blinded causing you to hit a bus full of senior citizens and kiddies going to sunday school.

Yeah its a little strange...
Supposedly you aren't allowed to chrome anything on the outside of the car that wasn't already chromed.

Same with the mirror tint thing...

The chrome is illegal because it is unsafe!
It is covered under the the heading of

"Glare reduction in drivers field of view."

The DMT looked at accident records back in the 60's & found that too many accidents were caused when the driver was blinded by the suns reflections from things like chrome wiper arms. Even the 1000 has painted wiper arms.

Despite what we might think at times, the DMT people are not stupid. If enough people say that they crashed due to the suns reflection off chrome, then the fix is simple.
Thats why many of the multi engine aircraft have matt black paint on the parts of the engine cowlings that the pilot can see

Now you know why.

You don't drive around with the other cars low beam attached to the bonnet of YOUR car.
If the headligh adjustment of the other car is too high, then that is illegal too, but it can not fall under the heading of making your car safe by way of its construction. It's a seperate issue that the other fellow must be responsible for.

Where do you draw the line though?
Have you ever followed a ute/4wd with a fibreglass canopy and perspex rear window while the sun is behind you?
It creates some huge shimmering effect and actually dazzles you continually while you are following it over every bump.
I've never had this problem with a rear chromed bar.
Perhaps they should ban chromed / polished rims up there in NSW it seems they ban everything else

Ohhhhhh that would be no good though because I forgot, their police pursuit cars have alloy wheels on them..........how handy

It has a turbo 13b rotary with RX7 5speed. I believe the reserve on it was $6500 USD, but I'm not 100% sure. That car is absolutely stunning, judging by some of the other photos of it.

yes, they are gauges. Some Pontiac GTOs and a few other cars had gauges on the hood, idea being you're looking that way anyways, and fuel and oil pressure lines could be plumbed directly to the gauges without going into the car.

If I recall correctly, this car was on eBay about a year ago. Looks like 71-73 Datsun 1200 2-dr Sedan.
