This would have been at one of the Wednesday Illegal2Legal races. The guys running it used to have illegal racing evens all over Johannesburg, but after some accidents and stuff hey decided to go legal. So they organised the Wesbank raceway one Wednesday nights, where you pay a small entrance fee, and get to race whoever/whatever you like. They try to keep the atmosphere as close to the illegal events as possible, complete wih some hip-hop blarring away, girls with scamp clothing and of course no lights or helmets. As a result it's not sanctioned by MSA(Motorsport South Africa), but minimum requirements are set and met with them always having a ready to roll ambulance at the track, he obvious safety netting and stuff.

We sefth efrikans are a bunch of tall ones, so hey decided to raise the roof height slightly so the we the burly type can also fit... Anyway I also prefer the lower roof.

It's running a turbo'ed 2L FE Mazda if I remember correctly. Only saw it there once. The colour looks even better in real life. The same guys owns two, the other one finished in a metallic Silver, with the same setup. What I don't like, is that they always come there with their double cabs pulling the little Datsuns on trailers. Screw that, if I can't drive my car to the event and back, then I don't want it.

There is some adventure in wondering how the hell you get home if you break the diff or something...

EDIT: The guy standing to the left is Jos

I think the square headlights are ok but I can't get used to the higher roof profile...
