so if you have an a12 with the higher mounts so an a15 wont fit
i can just change the crossmemeber over and itll be sweet?

A12 and A15 use the same mounts if they are the same year.

But 1970-1973 engines use different mounts from 1974-up engines. Yes, you can change swap the crossmembers to suit:

* pre-1974 engine: Use 1970-1973 1200 crossmember
* 1974-up engine: Use 1974-up 1200 crossmember

It's almost like the ring change thread... How can it be quicker to fetch and drag a set of cutting torch and bottles than to get the spanner that fits, and save a part

I understand the sentiment. On the other hand, having been in the wrecking business -- where we dismantle hundreds of parts per day -- saving a few minutes each time using the cutting torch adds up to a big advantage at the end of the day...

Then you put the rest of the 1200 in the crusher!

Looks like it. It is the fastest way of detaching this kind of part (cutting torch).
