Yes, you are right! the previous owner heated the coils to lower the car. it was not functioning at all. I was too scared to drive the car like that as i expected those coils to stick trough the tire at any time. Front feels excellent after I fitted new shocks and better coils.

Looks like someone lowered the ute with a "blue crescent" and didn't even take the springs out to do it !!
