Re: late model B122 distributor I have a 22433-52A60 coil. Primary resistance seems to hover around from 0.9 to 1.2 ohms.

* 22433-52A60/22462-52A60 is the Electronic Ignition coil. The Nissan EI coils typically reads .7 - 1.4 ohms and are designed to run at full power all the time
* standard points coil is 1.17 to 1.43 ohms and will overheat unless a ballast resistor is used to reduce the current flow). During START the Datsun 1200 ignition switch bypasses the ballast giving extra power
With such a design tolerance I wonder if it would be worthwhile to 'blueprint' the coil, i.e. choose one that reads on the low side
