Added some color to the engine bay ....my new golf rad is in place as well. Does anybody have a diagram to wire in the thermo switch so the fan is off when the ign is off? |

Re: GX Coupe Had some time today and the fan thermo switch is wired up! Fan switches on when it gets to about 84 deg when it stands and idle. Never comes on while the car is moving. Car now runs much cooler than before and I feel confident that it will not overheat in traffic! Some "Crook" wanted to rip me off R650-00 to do the wiring, only cost R7-00 for some lugs and the wires I had left over from a previous job!

Re: GX Coupe Why would you want to have it off when the ignition is off? I actually think it's a good thing to have it on, as you could prevent heat soak by cooling the water after the engine is switched off. Mine stays on, and it rarely runs for more than 45 - 60 seconds before it turns off. So you're not going to have your battery go flat that way either...
Anyway, I'm sure I saw a pic on here that demonstrated the wiring as you want it...

Re: GX Coupe yeah that is prob the best thing mate to have ya thermos running for a little bit after you turn the car off so it cools the water in the rad a little bit more.
