Re: new white walls If they arent the exact same offset as those pintara wheels they are either gonna rub the strut or touch the guard when you lower. Did you need the 3mm spacers to clear the strut with them?

Re: new white walls look on ebay for all the hotroddy style hubcaps. You can get brand new ones, not cheap tho. All sorts of stuff like moon disks and imitation caddy ones and stuff!

Re: new white walls If it's hubcaps that you want & not full wheel covers, then you had better find out just what wheels they are as there are a zillion different sizes & fittings & 99.9% of them will surely be be the wrong ones.

Re: new white walls ok if he put the shine on it must be fine, most tyre shine soaks into the paint and makes them yellow.
edit: what are the tyres worth new?

Re: new white walls Sean, he charged $80 for all four, but he said the extra cost was due to the traveling. as u know i do live pretty far out. i didn't get to meet him as i was at tafe. but he seemed like a great bloke over the phone.
Tyrie- i have two supercats on the front not sure what they are worth? but the rear pair cost me $80 a pop, fitted and balanced and whatever. they are 175/60/14's i beleive? i should try and get the name of the tyre shine he uses, to avoid them going yellow.
Mitch- Yes rims are on the cards, in the future. i have some 16's i was going to put on, but thought better of it. Cops love defecting people in my area.

Re: new white walls ok yeah thats why i dont understand people getting paint on whitewalls. I was quoted $85ea for 14" whitewall tyres, thats $15 cheaper than buying the tyre alone and getting it painted and the genuine ones last the full life of the tyre.

Re: new white walls I would still consider the painted-on option, if I couldnt get the whitewall tyre in the size and profile I wanted, or already had the tyres on the car before I decided to go whitewall.

I would still consider the painted-on option, if I couldnt get the whitewall tyre in the size and profile I wanted, or already had the tyres on the car before I decided to go whitewall. yeah I guess its better outside of canberra. Here there's one guy doing it for $150/4, and they last about a week. I really dont know why people bother.

Re: new white walls I had them on a car for about 2 years, use Gumption to clean them and they stay that way and don't go yellow but i never used tyre shine maybe thats why. Oh and for $16.50 a tyre you cant go wrong.

yeah thats a good point tyrie. does anyone know of any 14 inch hubbies at all? like steel shiny buggas. No point discussing hubcaps untill you tell us what model Datsun wheels you have. Not all hubcaps fit all wheel centers.
